Shirdi is the best-known pilgrimage of the saint Sai Baba. Every day throughout the year it welcomes thousands of devotees from different places in the country as well as from different parts of the world to pay their respects to Sai Baba. It is believed that Sai Baba lived in Shirdi till his death i.e., in 1918. He arrived at Shirdi at the age of sixteen and found shelter in Khandoba Temple where he met Mahalsapati. Sai Baba is a spiritual guru where he believed only two important things i.e., faith and compassion. Shirdi Sai Baba temple was originally owned by a devotee of Sai Baba namely ShrimanthGopalrao, who was a millionaire in Nagpur. But now it was owned by a trust which manages the day to day affairs. Now let us get into places to visit in Shirdi and around Shirdi.

A guide to places to visit in Shirdi and around the Shirdi

Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir was built in 1922 after the 4 years of his death. Few analyses reveal that Shirdi receives 60,000-1,00,000 devotees per day. It is made up of white marble and the hall can accommodate 600-700 people at a time.

Opening hours of Shirdi Temple

The temple is open from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm for the devotees to visit Sai Baba’s Shrine. The temple is also open on overnight during some special days like Ramnavami, Dussehra, and Guru Poornima.

When to visit Shirdi

December to February is the ideal time to visit Shirdi because summers are very hot and the crowd also will be more. Thursday is the auspicious day of worship where you can find extra crowds on this day. The temple is also overcrowded during the weekends as several families make the trip to the pilgrimage town from nearby cities like Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, etc. The Kakadaarti which is held at 5:15 am is popular among the devotees. The three other aartis held are Madhyanaarti at noon, Dhoopaarti at 6:15 pm i.e., at sunset and the Shejaarti at 10:30 pm. Devotees wait for long hours to attend any of these aartis to get the best view of the idol Sai Baba.

Darshanam Tickets for Shridi Temple

Free darshanam tickets are available where it takes nearly 3-5 hours for Sai Baba darshanam. These counters are available nearby the temple. Special darshan tickets are also available which costs Rs.200 per person where you can complete your darshanam within 30 minutes which avoids the crowd and you can have a hassle-free darshanam of the shrineSpecial facilities are available for Senior citizens, physically challenged people, etc. There is also an online facility to book the tickets for attending any of the four aartis in a day. These will be considered as special darshanam tickets where you can avoid the crowd and attend the aarti in front of the idol Sai Baba that is in the main hall. This type of Special darshan helps in spending quality time in front of the saint Sai Baba for more than 30 minutes that will refresh your body and soul removing the negative energy.

Note: Every darshanam ticket has the individual live photograph for security measures.
