Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple

Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple is situated on Ratnagiri hill at a distance of 2 km from Annavaram Railway Station. The Ratnagiri hill is about 300 feet above sea level with a lot of greenery around and the Pampa River encircling the hill. About 460 stone steps lead to the temple from the bottom of the hill.

Raja Ramanarayana, the zamindar of Gorsa and Kirlampudi estates constructed this temple in the year 1891 in Dravidian style. It was believed that the zamindar has a dream and ordered the construction of temple. The temple was reconstructed during 1933-34 and during the period 2011-2012.

The main temple is in the form of a chariot with four wheels at each of the four corners. Kalyana mantapa, is in the front of the main temple and is constructed with modern techniques of architecture. The Temple’s presiding deity is the Lord Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy and the Goddess is Ananta Lakshmi Satyavathi Devi.

The temple is having two floors; the ground floor holds the yantra and the peetham of the Lord. Thefirst floor has the Moola virat of Lord Satyanarayana Swamy which is placed in the center accompanied with the image of Goddess Anantha Lakshmi that is situated towards his right side and the Lord Shiva on the left. The thirteen feet idol of Trimurthis is a unique attraction here and one should never miss visiting this temple in their lifetime.

Pampa River

Pampa River is located at bottom of the Ratnagiri hill on which Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple is situated and is at a distance of 2 Km from Annavaram Railway Station.

Puruhutika Devi/Kukkuteswara Temple – Pithapuram

Kukkuteswara Templeis situated at a distance of 2.5 km from Pithapuram Railway Station, that is 12 km from Samarlakota, which is 16 km from Kakinada, around 61 km from Rajahmundry, approximately 31 km from Annavaram, around 208 km from Vijayawada and about 152 km from Visakhapatnam.
